Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Adelaide Handyman Services collects, why we collect it, how we store it, and how we protect it. By using our platform — whether as a customer submitting a job request or as a tradie applying to join the network — you agree to the terms in this policy.
We are matchmakers, not providers. Our role is to connect customers with independent tradies who operate their own businesses. We do not perform the work ourselves, we do not take a commission from jobs, and we do not charge tradies for leads. This policy reflects that limited and specific role.
This policy applies to the website adelaidehandymanservices.com.au and all forms, pages, and services available through it.

- Full name and contact phone number
- Email address
- Suburb, postcode, and service address
- Job type, preferred date, urgency level, and job description
From tradies (provider applicants):
- Full name and contact phone number
- Email address

2. How We Use Your Information
- To match customers with approved, verified tradies in their area
- To dispatch job leads to tradies via SMS — including job type, suburb, urgency, and preferred date
- To share customer contact details with the tradie who accepts a lead
- To verify tradie ABNs against the Australian Business Register before approval
- To conduct manual review of tradie applications before admitting them to the network
- To send SMS and email confirmations to customers and tradies
- To handle disputes, maintain audit logs, and ensure platform accountability
- To improve suburb coverage, response times, and platform performance
We do not use your information for advertising profiling, remarketing campaigns, or any purpose unrelated to the matching and communication functions described above.
3. How We Share Data
When a customer submits a job request, that request is dispatched by SMS to approved tradies covering the relevant suburb. The SMS includes the job type, suburb, urgency level, and preferred date — but does not include the customer's personal contact details at this stage.
When a tradie accepts a lead by replying to the SMS, they immediately receive the customer's name and contact phone number. Only one tradie receives this — the first to accept. The lead is exclusive. No other tradie receives the customer's contact details for that job.
Outside of this matching process, we do not share personal information with third parties except where required by law or where necessary to resolve a verified dispute.
What we will never do
- Sell or rent your personal information to any third party
- Share customer data with marketing agencies or advertising networks
- Share tradie data with lead aggregators or competing platforms
- Send your contact details to multiple tradies for the same job
4. Data Retention
We store customer and tradie information for up to 12 months from the date of last activity. This period supports dispute resolution, platform audits, and compliance obligations.
After this period, data is either anonymised or permanently deleted. You may request early deletion of your data at any time by contacting us — see Section 10.
5. Data Security
- SSL encryption across all forms and pages
- Restricted internal access — only those who need your data to perform their role can access it
- Regular security monitoring and compliance checks
- No payment data stored — tradies receive leads at no cost and no transaction data is processed through this platform
No method of data transmission over the internet is completely secure. We take all reasonable precautions to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies & Analytics
- Session cookies used for basic platform functionality
- Anonymous analytics (such as Google Analytics) to monitor traffic, performance, and suburb demand patterns
- No invasive cross-site tracking or advertising cookies
- No personal data is passed to analytics providers — only anonymised behaviour data
You may disable cookies via your browser settings. Some platform features may be affected if cookies are turned off.
7. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
